Petoskey Suffragists

Votes for women!

You may be familiar with Susan B. Anthony, the matriarch of national woman suffrage, but do you know Emma Lamb Barnes Baker of Petoskey and Bay View? What about Frances Webb Oldham? or Edith Doe Sly? The suffrage movement was alive here in the early 1900s with several of Petoskey's own women rallying for the cause. Read about 10 of them, interred here at Greenwood, and how they contributed to the fight.

Currently, we have two ways to purchase this thermal-bound booklet:

$21 - Give us a call at 231-347-6531 with your name, address and credit card information and we will mail one to you. ($5 extra for mailing costs)

Honoring veterans

While every veteran is honored during Wreaths Across America, Greenwood Cemetery features a veteran from each branch of service plus POW/MIA each year so we can learn more about these Americans and what they did for us. The featured veterans for 2021 are:

  • Richard Charles Hermann, U.S. Coast Guard

  • Allister George Murner, U.S. Merchant Marine

  • Lewis Sleeper, Army Air Corps, POW
