To the left is a Petoskey Stone.  These have been collected along the shores of Little Traverse Bay since the earliest days of Petoskey.

To the right is another Petoskey "Stone".  A gravestone located in Petoskey's Greenwood Cemetery.  The name of our history tours is taken from both of these stones.
The name of our tours is Petoskey Stones Speak, a play on words on the famous Petoskey Stone and the gravestones that mark the graves of many of Greenwood's residents.  We need to hear from these men and women who did so much to settle this area and to provide the basis for the Petoskey Area we all enjoy.  Henry Ward Beecher said, "What we call wisdom is the result of all the wisdom of past ages. Our best institutions are like young trees growing upon the roots of the old trunks that have crumbled away." By reminding ourselves of the contributions of these strong men and women who came here to build we are young trees growing upon the root system of the old trunks.

If you would like to attend one of our tours please contact the Cemetery Office.  If you would like a DVD of the actors at past tours or a book written after each tour that includes additional information you may contact the office for those items as well.
