The 2009 tour was held outside on Friday evening and inside on Saturday due to rain. It was a success with over 230 in attendance. A book covering the subjects of the tour and a DVD are available. Please contact the Cemetery office for information.
Kim Parr, Director of the Crocker House Museum in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, and David Behling, grief Counselor, discussed the changes in mourning practices from the 19th century to the 21st century. They did a very nice job of handling a very difficult subject but the contrast between ancient and modern was helpful for those in attendance to know how to grieve the loss of a loved one.
The subjects of the 2009 tour were:  David and Mary Cushman; J.A.C. and Lelia Rowan; Ethel Rowan Fasquelle; Rachel Oakley; Elizabeth Oakley Chrysler; Clayton Eastman Call; Captain George Lucas; Charles and Minnie Mancelona Pratt; John and Sarah Redpath and General Isaac D. Toll.  There is a chapter on the "Mossback Balls" - an extravaganza put on each year to bring the farmers and loggers into town for an evening of good food, dancing and story-swapping - and also to make sure that they were going to be able to make it through the difficult winters.
